August 2015 Beauty Haul

It's almost the end of August and I can officially say that this summer has been totally rubbish. As a result of this (yes, I blame the weather), I've been shopping a lot. Here is a snapshot of few items that I got in the past couple of weeks.




1. Recipe Crystal Sun Spray SPF 50+ PA+++
I purchased mine on eBay after watching a couple of reviews on YouTube videos. It sounded awesome because it's claimed to be completely transparent and water-resistant whilst providing a cooling effect. The mist is very fine and it says you can use it as a makeup fixer. I've been using it for the past two weeks and am still not sure what I think of this. I like the fact that I can use it on the top of makeup but because it's transparent and ultra-light, I am not sure if I applied enough or not. I try not to over-use it because the scent can be very overwhelming. With this being said, it has not broken me out (yet).


2. Real Techniques Nic's Picks 
Who doesn't love Real Techniques? I've been wanting to get this set ever since it first came out but it was always sold out! I like the fact that it has five brushes: 2 face brushes (duo fibre powder brush which I've been wanting to try out for so long and set exclusive cheek brush) & 3 eye brushes (base shadow brush and two set exclusive brushes which include angled shadow brush and eyeliner brush). Just like their new releases, these brushes have metal handles and of course, VEEEEEEERY soft!


3. Stila Smudge Crayon in pink violet & umber 
I already own one of these in a lighter shade called kitten. It's creamy and colour pay off is one of the best. It's also easy to blend while being waterproof as well as being crease-resistant. As the name suggests, pink violet is sumptuous pinkish violet and umber rich reddish brown. Both colours are incredibly pigmented so you can wear on its own or use as an eyeshadow base.


While the weather is continuously letting me down, I can't wait to discover new makeup tricks, using these products!
