Facial cleanser faves

Hello there,

Today, I'd like to share my current favourite facial cleaners with you guys. It includes both high ends and high street products.

Before I begin, I want you to know about a few things in relation to my face cleansing routine:

Firstly, I only use SLS-free products for my face because I find SLS too harsh for my face.
Secondly, I always double (sometimes triple) cleanse my face at night time: for instance, gel cleanser followed by wash off cleanser. But in the morning, I normally adopt a gentle routine such as a cleansing balm.
Thirdly, I use Foreo Luna which is a very potent cleansing/anti-aging tool. All products mentioned below works well with Foreo Luna.

1. Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel

There is no word for it. It is a cult-classic product that lots of beauty gurus swear by and I now know why. Before this cleanser, I never thought all cleansers are the same and there is no point spending so much money for it: how wrong was I?!

This is by far the best facial cleanser out there. It not only cleanses but also revitalises skin. It has Lactobacillus (pumpkin enzyme) which supposedly "purges pores and dissolves the bonds that bind dead cells to skin's surface". It definitely makes my skin more radiant and I love using it both morning (on its own) and night time (followed by another cleanser). The only downside is its price £29.50 for 100ml. It's definitely not as pricey as other cleansers such as Sisley and Eve Lom but still more expensive than lots of high street brands. The good news is though that my bottle lasted over five months despite the fact that I used both morning and night (two pumps each) so I think the £29.50 price tag isn't too bad at all. Think it as a skin care investment rather than a cleanser.

You can get Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel from both Space NK and Cult Beauty.

2. Bodyshop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-up Remover

If you have straight lashes and wear the toughest waterproof mascara ever(!), you NEED this remover. This is not only one of the most effective waterproof make-up remover but also one of the most purse-friendly. Since I started wearing Isehan Kiss Me Herione Make mascaras, I used a lot of waterproof make-up removers: some are good some are bad. Others are utterly brilliant! To name a few, Lancome Bi-Facil, Clarins Instant Eye Make-up Remover and Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Mascara Remover. In my opinion, Bodyshop Camomile Waterproof Eye&Lip Make-up Remover removes my makeup as well as (if not better than) Lancome Bi-Facil and Clarins Instant Eye Make-up Remover and its price tag is only 1/3 of the other two (£9/160ml). Let's also not forget the fact that it's so easy to get hands on this remover in the UK. I usually wait until Bodyshop sale or promotion is on: who doesn't like 50% off? You can get Bodyshop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-up Remover on its website.

3. Eve Lom Morning Time Cleanser

You might already heard of Eve Lom cleanser which is an amazing cleansing balm. This is definitely one of the most expensive cleanser that I've ever used but it's worth every single penny. It has papaya enzymes which gently exfoliate and brighten. It also has the most luxurious scent ever and honestly, whenever I feel tired, I put this on and massage my face, wait for a couple of minutes and wash off: boom! I feel totally ready for the day.

It's not cheap but if you are looking for a luxurious facial cleanser for morning, I highly recommend Eve Lom Morning Time Cleanser (£40/125ml).

4. Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Cream Wash

This is one of the cheapest facial cleansers out there but one of the best in my opinion. I don't like SLS but it's not always easy to find SLS-free facial cleansers on high street. I really like Neutrogena Visibly Clear line in general and the Pink Grapefruit cream wash not only comes in a cute pink packaging but also effectively cleanses my skin without making it too dry. I hate facial cleansers which makes my skin really tight and this doesn't do that. My boyfriend has dry skin and he agrees with me. Plus, it's infused with a very fresh grapefruit scent which can never go wrong in my skincare dictionary.

I always stock it up whoever there is an offer at Boots or Superdrug (e.g. buy 2 for £5): bargain!

5. Bioderma Sensibio H2O (aka Micellar Cleansing Water)

I definitely think cleansing is as important as (if not more important than) putting on make-up. But we all have those days that we are too tired or simply haven't got the facility such as on the airplane. Bioderma Sensibio H2O comes in really handy on those days. The good news is that now you can get this really easily in the UK because Boots started carrying them! :-D This is a very gentle cleanser, so unlike what others usually suggest, I found that it takes a few cotton wools to remove all traces of make-up or dirt. I usually buy a few bottles of 100ml in Paris as they are super-cheap in France but if you are in the UK, keep on eye on the offer at Boots (£5/100ml) or other online stores.

Have you tried any of these cleansers? What do you think about them? I'd love to know your opinion.
Thanks for reading my post. Hope you have a lovely day.

Love,
Kyra xx
