My Review of "Your Cult Beauty Edit - The Most Wanted"

Your Cult Beauty Edit - The Most Wanted

First of all, I must apologise for not writing this post sooner because I just checked Cult Beauty website and 'Your Cult Beauty Edit - The Most Wanted' is no longer available :-(. Nevertheless, I wanted to share my views with you guys as the box contained some of most wanted - as the name suggested - beauty items of 2016!

I got mine during Cyber Monday sale so it was whooping £65 (+free shipping, yay!). I believe the original price was £90 which is quite sharp for many of us. But of course, what is included in the box is over £200 value, so if you were like myself who had been wanting to try some of these products, it was good time to take advantage of the promotion.

I liked the concept of this box as it contained three pre-selected skincare products - Emma Hardie Morninga Cleansing Balm, Alpha H Daily Essential Moisturiser and Pixi Glow Tonic - as well as three make-up products which you could customise depending on your taste. As you can tell from the picture above, I chose Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso, Becca Shimmering Perfector Pressed in Moonstone and Ouai Volume Shampoo. Just in case you are wondering, all products inside this box are full-size(!!).

I have been using every single product since I got this box and I have to say, the box is definitely worth the money and all products are truly worth the hype.

Emma Hardie Morninga Cleansing Balm (100ml / £38)

I love using this cleansing balm in the morning. It cleanses my skin without stripping and leaves my skin hydrated. I still like my Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel teeny bit more but this is definitely one of the best cleansing balm I tried over the years. The cleansing cloth is comes with is also lovely. You can never have enough cloths so I can't complain. ;-)

Alpha H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF 50 (50ml / £29)

This is such a light-weight moisturiser which has built-in SPF protection. I love using this in the morning as the last step of skincare. It makes my skin deliciously supper without feeling greasy. Also despite high factor sun protection, it doesn't have white mask effect which is an added bonus.

Pixi Glow Tonic (250ml / £18)

I heard about this product for few years now so this has been on my wish list for a while. I was a bit worried that it was going to be too harsh on my skin but I was totally wrong. I use it day and night and the result is really amazing! I started noticing difference within 3-4 days: clear, radiant, glowing skin which we all love.

Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso (3ml / £16)

I haven't tried that many liquid lipsticks but I have to say this is indeed a very nice product. My lips aren't very drying to begin with, but there are many lipstick formals out there which make my lips dry and I HATE them. But this isn't one of them. Of course, it isn't as hydrating as more glossy formula-based lip products, but it offers one of the best longevity (lasted throughout my Christmas dinner!) so I can forgive its non-hydrating, albeit non-drying, formula. The colour Beso is a perfect classic red shade which is very close to my all time favourite Mac Ruby Woo. I get lots of compliments when I wear this lipstick so am definitely wearing this again soon. :-D

Becca Shimmering Perfector Pressed in Moonstone (8g / £32)

After trying out this powder in Champagne Pop, I was dying to try Moonstone for a long time. However, I have the Balm Mary Lou Manizer so have been quite hesitant to purchase Moonstone. After trying it out over a month now, I definitely think it's actually one of subtle highlighters out there which is actually good for many of us who aren't very careful with highlighters. Unlike Champagne Pop or Mary Lou Manizer, I can go a little overboard with Moonstone and it still looks natural. It's also a very good inner-corner highlighter for your eyes as well. I am not sure if I would purchase another one in the future but am definitely happy to have it in my collection.

Ouai Volume Shampoo (300ml / £20)

Originally I wanted to try Repair Shampoo, but unfortunately it was all sole out so I decided to go ahead with Volume. A lot of people talked about this shampoo in the past few months, especially about its scent which is about to be launched as perfume (maybe?). I've been using this shampoo twice a week over the past two months and I have to say that I can't see what the fuss is about... Don't get me wrong; I still think this is a good shampoo. It cleanses my hair and doesn't weigh my hair down. However, it doesn't have the amazing scent that everyone talks about. Plus, I think the packaging is kind of cheap. It dispenses the product alright but I don't think the packaging doesn't match its rather hefty £20 price tag. With this being said, if you are looking for good volumising shampoo and you have budget for it, I think it is a good one to try.

All in all, I am really impressed with the products inside the box. I still cannot believe that I got all of these with £65 - such a bargain! I hope Cult Beauty brings this box bag or maybe create 2017 version!

Thanks for reading. x
