Empty product #1: Lush shower jelly (Whoosh)

Hello, everyone!

Welcome to the first chapter of my new project: Empty product. This will be where I mostly discuss about products that I used up (just like the ones that you see on YouTube) and give my honest opinion about how much I enjoyed the product and, most importantly, whether or not I would repurchase.

I'd like to embark on this new journey with Lush's shower jelly called Whoosh. What a brilliant name!

I am a big fan of a good shower both in the morning and night. Who doesn't like feeling fresh and clean, getting ready for work (or bed zzz... oh, yes!). Personally, I love all kinds of scents when it comes to body wash but my all time favourite is zingy citrus smell for morning shower and calming lavender sell for night shower (no one likes to feel awkwardly awaken, getting ready to bed).

As soon as I saw in the shop, I fell in love with it instantly. Its colour is almost like deep ocean and certainly smells like one, too! I think it's coming from seaweed which is one of the main ingredients of the product along with fresh citrus juices, rosemary and geranium oils. It definitely reminds of my beach holiday in Thailand a long time ago...

Despite its possibility of being the greatest shower gel ever, I hadn't heard anyone really talking about this product and now I know why... It's basically

NOT good.

I usually do my research before buying beauty products; who likes wasting money? I really should have done my research before making a purchase of this shower jelly from Lush. My first impression remains the same, but the problem occurs when you are using this product in shower. Lush suggests take some jelly out and use like a shower gel or to keep in the fridge to use more like a soap. Personally I haven't tried the latter method. I am too lazy and don't want to rush to the kitchen overtime I have a shower (and come back to it after), so I've only been using it through the first method which is taking some product out and lather up in hands or apply on body directly. For me, this does NOT work. The texture of this product is too slippery and before I break everything down and lather up, it just slips out of my hand and literally straight down to the drain; what a waste of money. I could work it out slightly better by using a loofah, it still does not meet my expectation. The product isn't exactly cheap (£3.50/100g), so I did my best to use it up and I am glad that it's finally gone!

On a side note however, while writing this post, I had a chance to look at the video clip about Whoosh on Lush website. It's quite interesting because rather than scooping some out (as the instruction tells you), the person just use the whole product out and rub her body. Based on what I see here, may be I was using it incorrectly, or I may put all the blame on Lush's instruction.

At any rate, would I repurchase it? Not in the near future, but maybe if I hear the news about the formula being improved, I may have another go.

Have you tried Whoosh yet? What are your thoughts?
