I've been using Foreo Luna for a couple of years and feel like that I can give my honest thoughts for those of you out there who are hunting for a new skincare gadget.
I came across Foreo Luna for the first time through a well-known YouTuber, Tanya Burr when she mentioned it as one of her monthly favourite. I was always interested in a skincare devices but didn't like traditional brush-type ones (e.g. Clarisonic) because they are painful and not very hygienic unless you change the brush head regularly (thus making it quite pricey in the long run). I tried once at my friend's house and no offence for those of you who love and swear by Clarisonic but I absolutely hated it...
Anyway, after I heard it from Tanya Burr's youtube channel, I did little more digging about Foreo Luna and found out it's my absolute dream-come-true. It costs almost the same as Clarisonic but doesn't require any extra cost after the initial purchase. Plus, it's very hygienic as it's made of silicone (which is seemingly 35x more hygienic than standard sonic-cleasing brushes because it's nonporous to resist bacteria buildup). The divide incorporates what's called T-Sonic technology that offers up to 8,000 pulsations per minute channelling through soft silicone touch-points and gently remove dead skin cells as well as unclog pores of 99.5% of dirt and oil, and 98.5% of makeup residue. According to Foreo's own website, the secret's in the T-sonic pulsations is as the following:
The LUNA™ takes a revolutionary approach to skincare with the combination of T-Sonic™ (transdermal sonic) pulsations with silicone touch-points. Applied across the dermal surface, these T-Sonic™ pulsations help to instantly refresh the look and feel of the skin, while the nonabrasive, rounded silicone touch-points glide across the face for ultra-gentle cleansing that feel so good, it’s like getting a daily facial in the comfort of home.Last but not least, once charged, it lasts up to 450 uses. This means it will last 225 (more than six months) if using it twice a day. How economical!
As mentioned earlier, I've been using Foreo Luna for over two years now and my verdict is very clear:
It works!
Its benefits become very clear when you stop using the device. I have stopped using the device for about three weeks when it was broken once. I had to return the device to the company's European headquarter in order to get a new one. During this time, I experienced one of the most displeasing time with my skin: never feeling very clean and pores started getting clogged up especially around my nose. I was using silicone-based primer and realised that the product was building up little by little inside my pores, creating little bumps. Of course, there was a noticeable difference in my skin texture; just not as smooth as before. All of these happened within 3 weeks which made me shocked. Eventually, my new Foreo Luna arrived and all the problems were resolved relatively soon. But I promised myself that I would never get separated from my Foreo Luna ever again and I've been keeping that promise quite well until now. ;-)
I would recommend Foreo Luna for anyone who is looking for a gentle cleaning device which is economical and hygienic. The only thing you should remember is that you have to be very careful with it. I heard that the device is quite sensitive so gets broken quite easily if dropped. This never happened to me. Yet, I had experienced some issues with my previous device when it just didn't stop. No matter what I do (e.g. troubleshooting advice), I couldn't stop the device. It just turns itself on in the middle of night and continues to vibrate. It woke me up and gave me a fright! I sent my boyfriend into the bathroom and he found that it was just little pink machine which was making all that noise... (hahah) Anyway, we could only get back to sleep after placing it on the top of the bed inside the guest room. I wish we did this before woken by it several times throughout the night but oh well...
Nevertheless, you should't worry about this sort of incident as the company offers a brilliant 10-year warranty. When you encounter problem(s), you should get in contact with the Customer Care and when appropriate, they will replace your old device with a new one. Just remember it takes time and you want to look after your skin really well without the device unless you want to go through the experience I had. You can buy Foreo Luna products at many places now days including Selfridges and asos.com, but I got mine at cult beauty (once upon a time when it was the only place you could get it in the UK). Cultbeauty occasionally offers a wicked discount code: for example right now there is "get £30 off when spending £150" deal with "SPRING30" code. Besides, they offer free shipping (worldwide) with this particular product
Have you ever used Foreo Luna before? What are your thoughts?
Thanks for reading x
