Discovery of the cleanser of 2015

I know it's only May but I am pretty sure that I've just discovered THE best cleanser of 2015: Clarins Paris Pure Melt Cleansing Gel with Marula Oil.

I got the deluxe sample of this cleansing gel (20ml) a while ago inside the goody bag I received from Harvey Nichols. I used most of the products included in the bag and I am not sure why it took so long for me to give this one a go. I was going through sample/travel-size products for my trip down to London and this cleansing stood out to me because of its size (more than enough for 10-day travel) and the claims made on the box. It says:

A gel that transforms into an oil, then into a milk... Claris reinvents cleansing with an innovative texture that eliminates even the heaviest make-up, while caring for your skin.

  • On application, a melting gel glides over the skin to dislodge make-up and impurities.
  • Massaged in, it becomes an ultra-fine oil which lifts off and dissolves impurities, providing skin with comfort thanks to Marula oil.
  • On rinsing, it's a milky emulsion which removes all impurities to leave skin fresh, clean and velvety-soft.

Doesn't this sounds awesome? Everything that I want to hear about a facial cleanser.

For me, I needed about 20p-size amount of product each time AFTER removing eye and lip makeup with waterproof eye and lip makeup remover (from the Body Shop). I have a big face, but the 20ml deluxe sample still lasted me for about a month! That's amazing!

The actual product is incredible. As soon as you apply onto your face and start massaging, the gel melts into non-heavy, non-greasy oil and when rinsing, it turns into milk, removing all the makeup and other gunk built up. I wash my face once more with a foaming cleanser (+ Foreo Luna) and finish the routine with a natural exfoliant made from rice bran. After the routine, I feel that my face is very clean AND hydrated, ready for the next step. I've tried quite a lot of oil- and balm-type cleansers in recent years but was never been impressed as much as I was by this one. I particularly like the fact that it's a gel because oil-based products always get messy and I don't really like cleansing balms because after a while, I just don't think they are hygienic. I know... I am quite fussy, hahah ;-)

I've been a huge fan of Clarins skincare products and am happy to let you know that Pure Melting Cleansing Gel was not a disappointment. I would definitely recommend it for all skin types (dry, normal, combination and oily). You can get it at a Clarins counter at larger Boots or Boots.com, department stores (e.g. House of Fraser and Debenhams) and Clarins' own website (which offers a slightly cheaper price tag).

Thanks for reading and I hope all of you have a wonderful day!

Kyra x
